"Music history as reflected in the present" with Benedikt Brilmayer

Musical instruments are not the first objects that spring to mind when you think of museums and their collections. How is it that they are kept mute and silent in a museum collection instead of being played in concert? And are they really not played? Yes they are, but of course under strict scientific rules and only by specially trained musicians.

Benedikt Brilmayer, a specialist in electronic, stringed and plucked instruments, invites you on a guided tour in which he allows musical instruments to tell a story beyond their tonal reality. Using selected keyboard instruments, he will explain some of the characteristics of making music with historical musical instruments and allow you to experience their different soundscapes.

Please book in advance at the museum ticket office on tel. 030.254 811 78.
