From November to February, it's movie time at the MIM. On the program are classics of silent films. They are accompanied by live music played by on the museum’s Mighty Wurlitzer theater organ, which was purchased by Werner Ferdinand von Siemens in the year 1929. It is the largest instrument of its type in continental Europe and has four manuals, 1228 pipes and more than 200 stops. It also incorporates a large number of percussion and special-effects instruments. The "Wednesday Night Cinema" series is curated by Katrin Simon.

The Big Screen. Film Posters of All Time
In the 2023/24 season, three films were on the program, that referred to the exhibition "The Big Screen. Film Posters of All Time" exhibition at the Kunstbibliothek der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin: Fritz Lang's Metropolis from 1925/26, Buster Keaton, Battling Butler from 1926, and Asphalt by Joe May from 1929. The exhibition had been seen from November 3, 2023 to March 3, 2024 in the exhibition hall of the Kulturforum.
