Castelfidardo, a small town in the hills of the Marche region, has been the centre of Italian accordion-making since the late 19th century. In a musical and literary journey, author Bruno Franceschini and accordionist Radu Ratoi explore how the accordion has shaped the identity of the town’s inhabitants.

The audience is taken on a narrative journey through the hilly landscape of the Marche region and the workshops of Italy’s traditional master craftsmen. The world-renowned virtuoso Radu Ratoi accompanies and enriches this narrative on the accordion. He is regarded as one of the most important contemporary accordionists and is a prize-winner at the six most prestigious international competitions – including Castelfidardo itself.
