Ensonification: Ensemble Sonification of Temporal Data
Event date: 11/05/2026
Location: Curt-Sachs-Saal, 6 to 7.30 pm
When data becomes music: Discover how scientific findings are translated into sound – and how music opens up new perspectives on our world.

How can data be heard? The Ensonification project combines science and music to create an extraordinary sound experience. Time-based data from real-world phenomena is translated into musical structures, explored collaboratively and performed live. This opens up new perspectives on how we understand data and reveals new meanings through the interplay of sound, silence and analysis.
The audience is invited to participate actively in the music and to experience first-hand the creation of this unique form of data sonification. A performance by local musicians will be followed by a talk by Tristan Peng, further musical performances and a group discussion. An exciting insight into the intersection of music, science and creative data analysis.
