Teacher training: Nature makes the music
Event date: 10/09/2026
Location: Musikinstrumenten-Museum, 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Musical motifs in nature and organic materials in musical instruments. Registration required

Whether it’s birdsong or the sound of the waves: nature has always inspired those who make music, compose and build instruments. Together, we’ll set out in search of clues, discovering musical motifs in nature and organic materials such as bone, horsehair or precious woods used in musical instruments. In doing so, we’ll also explore issues of sustainability and the origin of materials.
Live musical examples bring to life the connection to nature found in many works of classical music. After all, Ludwig van Beethoven is thought to have overheard even the most famous theme in music history from a yellowhammer and then written it down: Dadadadaaa.
For teachers of all school types. No participation fee. Places are limited.
