Historical sounds, young musicians and plenty of enthusiasm: on 24 October 2026, the Youth Ensemble for Early Music (JAM) performed its programme ‘All in a Garden Green’ at the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) of the State Institute for Music Research.

Under the musical direction of Katharina Bäuml and Hildegard Wippermann, the ensemble embarked on a journey through the Golden Age of English music. Using historical and modern instruments, the young musicians brought Renaissance and early Baroque music to life.

The JAM brings together young people aged between around 12 and 24 who are passionate about early music. Founded in 2024 by the Berlin State Music Council, the ensemble offers them the opportunity to discover historical music, make music together and gain their own musical experiences.

A concert full of musical discoveries – and wonderful encounters at the Museum of Musical Instruments.
