Our Welcome Guide answers questions and plays instruments live.

There are around 800 historical musical instruments to admire in our museum. These include unique treasures such as the harpsichord that once belonged to the family of Johann Sebastian Bach, flutes belonging to Frederick the Great, and a travelling harpsichord that belonged to his grandmother, Queen Sophie Charlotte. You can also see – and hear – violins by Stradivari and Guarneri, a glass harmonica and one of Europe’s largest cinema and theatre organs. Our Welcome Guide is on hand to answer your questions and demonstrate the instruments for you. Be inspired by fascinating stories about our collection and its extraordinary exhibits, and discover musical worlds both old and new!
